Iskandar Malaysia
Named after the late Sultan of Johor, Iskandar Malaysia is the newest economic hub in the southern region of Malaysia. Encompassing a land area of 2,217 square kilometres, it is one of the largest development regions in the country, earning it a reputation as a place teeming with opportunity.
Split into five Flagship Zones, Iskandar Malaysia covers a tract of land that holds Johor Bahru City Centre and a number of adjoining towns. The corridor—which includes the significant ports of Tanjung Pelepas, Pasir Gudang, and Tanjung Langsat— is a top priority for development, with a strong focus being given to the Iskandar Puteri Flagship zone.
Planned to contain a number of new locations for enterprise, Iskandar Malaysia is set to feature a new financial district, business district, state administrative centre, and an “Educity.” Designed to be a one stop locale where living and commerce merge, it is a rising star in the west of Malaysia, bringing with it high expectations for economic growth, as well as new residential and commercial opportunities.
